Beschreibung

The QMK 188 is a crush-cutting (Quetschschnitt) knife cassette from the QMK series. A pneumatically-lowered round knife presses onto a hardened cylindrical surface (Messerwelle / Hartmetall-Band) and cuts the web by pure pressure, without a counter-blade. Suitable for thin paper, foils, textiles, rubber, foam and nonwoven multi-layer materials. Lower cutting speed than shear cutting and wears the knife faster, but requires no second knife shaft.

Replacement knife pricing

Range: € 12 (QMK 98) up to € 28 (SMK 880 for the shear series).

Counter-cylinder: Messerwelle / Schneidwalze - typically with Hartmetall (hard-metal) coating to resist wear from crush cutting. Or for thin stationary webs: Hartmetall-Bänder. Mounted on Kassettenhalter. QMK cassettes are lower-investment, lower-performance than SMK (shear) cassettes but they don't require a second knife shaft. For continuous production with heavy materials at high speed, prefer SMK series.
