Beschreibung

The Messerwelle (for crush/hot cutting) or Schneidwalze (for shear cutting, with knife rings) is a driven, rigid cylindrical shaft that provides the counter-surface or knife-ring carrier opposite the Messerkassette.

For crush / hot cutting (QMK, HK/HMK series): the Messerwelle is Hartmetall-coated (tungsten-carbide), or a Hartmetall-Band is wrapped on its surface, to resist the cutting-blade impact.
For shear cutting (SMK series): the Messerwelle carries knife rings (Messerringe UM …) fixed by grub screws or clamping set, and is hardened and ground.
