Beschreibung

The SMK 880 is a shear-cutting (Scherenschnitt) knife cassette from the SMK series. The cassette carries a driven circular knife that shears past a knife ring (Messerring, UM series) mounted on the driven knife shaft opposite. The knife ring's peripheral speed is set 3-5 % faster than the web speed and the overlap is 0.5 - 1 mm. For heavy webs, two knife shafts with overlapping rings are used. Performance is far higher than crush cutting - up to 2,000 m/min with SMK 880.
