Dual-Side Mounted Winding Shaft

The Dual-Side Mounted Pneumatic Winding Shaft (Beidseitige Wickelwelle, Vierkant-Wickelwelle) uses the same pneumatic clamping principle as the one-side shaft - air-inflatable elements grip the core internally - but the shaft is supported on BOTH ends by square-driver journals (Vierkantzapfen) that fit into Klapplager (fold-open bearings). Much higher bending/torque capacity than the cantilever version, suitable for wider and heavier webs.

Max. web width: up to 2,500 mm. Max. rotational speed: 500 RPM (standard). Standard sleeve inner diameters: 40, 50, 70, 76, 100, 120, 152 and 200 mm.

Spannkopflänge (clamping-head length) E = 45 mm for all diameters.

Base price: € 104.00 (same for all core diameters - no variant split because the bending capacity comes from the bearings, not from a flange). Surcharge for automatic air supply: + € 2.00. Length surcharge: + € 1.42 per mm (same as one-side version).

Price = 104.00 € + Span length [mm] × 1.42 €/mm  (+ 2.00 € if automatic air)

v_zul [m/min] = 500 RPM × d [mm] × π / 1000

Same table as one-side shaft (63 m/min at d=40 → 315 m/min at d=200).

Bending moment (two-side case):

M [Nm] = (Roll weight [kg] × 10 + Web tension [N]) × Roll width [mm] / 4000

Simply supported beam, half of the cantilever result. The value must stay below the torque capacity of the chosen Klapplager.

Safety critical note

Between the square journal and the winding-shaft body there MUST be a cylindrical groove (Nut) dimensioned to Boschert's specification. The VT1 driver disc (Mitnehmerscheibe) fits this groove and is MANDATORY whenever the Klapplager is mounted on a web-guide-regulator slider - otherwise the square journal can be pulled out of the Klapplager, which is a safety-critical failure.

Preferred for Flexwinder K/L master machines, Wendewickler (turret), Doppelwickler. Chinese assembly recommended (German price level, low margins).
