Where It All Began

The story of Grossmann GmbH begins in 1996, in a modest workshop in Kusterdingen, a small town nestled between Tuebingen and Reutlingen in Germany's Baden-Wuerttemberg region. This is the heartland of German engineering — the same region that gave birth to companies like Bosch, Daimler, and Trumpf.

From day one, the mission was clear: build industrial machinery and precision tools that combine German engineering rigor with practical, real-world problem solving. Not the cheapest products on the market — but the ones you can absolutely rely on.

Five Divisions, One Philosophy

Today, Grossmann operates through five specialized business divisions, each focused on a specific area of industrial technology. But they all share the same DNA: precision engineering, robust construction, and uncompromising quality.

1. Winding Technology (Wickeltechnik)

Our founding division and still our largest. Winding shafts, chucks, adapters, and complete winding systems for the converting, packaging, textile, and nonwoven industries. From simple 1-inch shafts to complex multi-winder machines with integrated tension control.

2. Cutting Systems (Schneidsysteme)

High-performance cutting machines for every material — from thin aluminum foil to 20mm steel plate. Our portfolio includes rotary slitters, guillotine shears, and fully automated slitting lines.

3. Sheet Metal Processing (Blechverarbeitung)

Complete solutions for sheet metal forming and fabrication: hydraulic presses, blank cutting lines, decoiling and straightening systems, and automated stacking equipment.

4. Sandwich Panels (Sandwichplatten)

Specialized machinery for the production and processing of insulated sandwich panels used in construction, cold storage, and industrial buildings.

5. Special Machines (Sondermaschinen)

When standard solutions don't fit, our custom engineering team designs and builds bespoke machinery. This division is where our engineers get to push boundaries and solve the problems nobody else can solve.

Global Reach, Local Roots

While our machines now operate in over 40 countries across Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas, we've never moved our manufacturing out of Germany. Every machine, every winding shaft, every cutting blade is designed and built right here in Kusterdingen.

Why? Because we believe that "Made in Germany" isn't just a label — it's a promise. A promise of precision, durability, and long-term value. Our customers know that when they buy a Grossmann product, they're getting something that will work reliably for decades, not just years.

Our Team: Engineers Who Build What They Design

At Grossmann, our engineers aren't just designers sitting behind CAD screens. They're hands-on professionals who walk the factory floor, talk to machine operators, and understand the real-world challenges their designs need to solve.

This integration of design and manufacturing expertise is rare in our industry, and it shows in the quality of our products. When an engineer knows they'll have to stand next to a customer while their machine runs for the first time, they design differently. They design better.

The Numbers That Tell Our Story
